Where Did Friday Go?

mom says

What happened to Friday?  One minute I was getting up, getting the kids off to school and getting ready to do some work; the next minute it was Saturday.  Friday came and went in a flash and I have nothing to show for it, well almost nothing.

I got the kids off to school so that was a good thing but we were 20 minutes late so not a good thing.  The little one got to wear his costume to school so he was in heaven.  He was up and ready in a flash and very impatiently waiting on his brothers, which really translates to was annoying them to hurry up.  One of the middle kids was going to the school dance but failed to mention it until we were ready to walk out the door.  He needed cash for this dance and I don’t keep cash on me.  He was lucky I had the $5.00 he needed or he would have been out of luck.

Remember the failed Halloween cat crafty thing I sucked at completely, if not, check it out then come back…we will wait for you.  Well that whole mess was for my oldest middle child’s art class.  He had to put together an art project out of candy and rice krispie treats.  I was trying to be helpful and it ended in a disaster and no art project for my son.

I ended up going back to the store and getting store bought rice krispie treats (the ones that contain so many preservatives they don’t fall apart).  All he had to do was use toothpicks to connect the rice krispie treats into the head and body of a spider(we changed to spider thought it would be easier), smush the cinnamon discs into the head for eyes and stick the black licorice twizzlers into the body for legs.  I wasn’t touching this at all, it was all on him.  I dreamed it up but he was going to have to build it.

Anyway he took all the supplies to art class to assemble his spider only to be told he could assemble it at home and just take a picture of it…wait…what?  Really just a picture?  Had I not had to pick up the stupid rice krispie treat Halloween cat it would have been fine.  You see I made the rice krispie treats and cut out the body of the cat, it was when I had to pick it up to move it that it all fell apart.  Melted marshmallows really aren’t that good of glue, who knew, it sticks to your fingers and in your hair pretty well (don’t ask).  Had I known a picture would have been fine, the child could have decorated the cat body where it was and not moved it at all.  Oh well, I still suck at crafts and am not ever doing them again.

I got back from dropping the kids off at school and the rest of the day just disappeared.  I really don’t know what happened to it.  I made a phone call about the new invasive TSA pat down procedure and body scanner.  I have an inside track on that one being I used to work for TSA.  I did some research on it to make sure I have my facts correct for the piece I am writing about for parents.  I watched Parenthood because I love the show and how real and unreal it is at the same time.  The day they make a real show about parenthood will be the day but for now I settle for the half real show.  Then the kids came home and that was it for me.  It is like I lost several hours and don’t know where they went.

I do know I never got around to writing my daily life post for yesterday but that is ok….I can’t seem to remember what I did anyways so it would have been just a blank page or incoherent rambling.  Today though I have been up and busy working.  I have written three more Halloween post that were sitting and waiting for me.  I checked on Twitter and was pleasantly surprised that I have some more followers.  I am writing this post so that is something and when I get done here, I will be decorating for Halloween (not my house, the website).

The kids are gone this weekend so I have complete and utter quiet in my house with no distractions.  See how much work I can get done with no kids around bugging me every two seconds for this, that and the other!  After Halloween I will be disappearing for a little while.  I have some legal work to get done and that has to take priority but I will be back.  I will try to keep up with a daily life post here and there but being that all my time will be spent on legal work, the post will mainly be about me complaining and whining about that.  I will spare you as much as possible.

I am off now to decorate for Halloween.  I hope everyone has a safe and Happy Halloween.  Stop by tomorrow to see all my decorations, that is if I don’t break WordPress and piss off my hosting company again by hogging all the resources.  Such is the way of WordPress and plugins, it is not my fault.
