The Two Processes You Need to Understand

Your body is a series of processes.  Everything that occurs is determined by the signals your brain sends out based on the input your brain receives.  Now there are long winded medical explanations for all the processes going on but you don’t need to know them all to lose weight.  There are two specific processes that you need to know and don’t worry you aren’t about to get a medical lecture with words you have to look up to understand.

When a mechanical engineer wants to figure out how something works they do what is called reverse engineering.  That is where they take a working item and break it down in reverse to see how it works.  I applied the same concept to weight loss.

First I had to figure out what was causing my body to store the fat it stored in the first place.  Once I could figure that out then I worked backwards back to the state before the fat was stored.  So now I know how the fat gets stored in the first place so I can adjust to make sure that the excess fat I don’t want stored isn’t.  That is the first step to weight loss, stop gaining weight.

Once you can stop gaining weight then you have to work out how to actually get your body to use the stored fat that is already there.  Again reverse engineering comes in handy.  I had to figure out the process my body went through to make energy and where it pulled from to get the energy it used.

Once I figured out those two processes, then losing weight became easier.  Now for the semi-scientific processes going on.  I say semi-scientific because I am not a scientific experts nor did I run any scientific experiments.  I did my research and tested out my theories on myself.  I can consistently lose weight without major issues, life changes or deprivation because I have learned how the processes work and I get my brain to send the right signals to make the processes work and at their peak performance.

How does the body store fat in the first place?

You eat food, it doesn’t matter if it is healthy food or unhealthy food, all food can be turned into fat there are no exceptions to this.  There is not a single food out there that some part of it can’t be turned into fat and stored.  The body takes the food you eat and it goes through a process converting it into the energy your body needs and the  stored fat.  Once the energy tank is full the rest is turned into fat and stored.  This is true of all food, understand that.  You can eat all the healthy food you want but once that tank is full, the rest will be turned into fat, the body knows no other way to do it.  The brain gets the signal that you have eaten food and then sends out the proper signals to convert the food and fill the energy tank and the fat stores with whatever is left over.  The brain does not differentiate healthy food and unhealthy food.  It just starts the process.

Now foods do process differently according to what our bodies need and how well our bodies are functioning so there are benefits to eating healthier foods but it is not a necessity if you are just looking at weight loss and not health.  I am just focusing on weight loss as it is easier to change things to be healthier if you are not trying to compete with weight loss at the same time.  So get the weight off first.

When does the body use the fat that is stored?

If you want to lose weight you have to get the process going that uses the stored fat.  There is no trick to this.  It is a normal process that your body already knows how to do.  When your body needs energy it reaches into the fuel tank and pulls out what it needs.  When the good productive energy tank is empty the brain sends out signals to start converting the fat stores in to energy to use instead.

When you starve yourself and the brain consistently finds the good productive tank empty it will actually send out signals to slow down the rate of production of your other organs and processes to use as little as possible of the stored fat for energy.  It will then build up those fat stores first before it fills the good productive energy fuel tank.

These bodily processes are hard wired in our brains.  They are there for our survival.  Now I know I didn’t put out a speicific medical step by step process explanation but in general terms those are the two processes that are going on that you need to know about to lose weight.  You don’t need the scientific all medical termed step by step process to understand what is going.  You can and probably have actually even tested these theories when you have done other diets.

The diet books out there need to convince you to buy their products so they give long winded medicial explanations and theories to convince you the diet will work for you.  Well I am not selling anything and I am not trying to convince you to do it my way.  If you want a long winded medical explanation then this is not the place for you because I not going to give it.  Much of what goes on is common sense and it gets muddled by all the hype and marketing to get you to buy a diet program, diet book or magazine that promises to have the ultimate weight loss secret.  There is no secret.  You need those two processes to work in order to lose weight.  That is all.  You don’t need a special meal plan or food schedule.

In the simplest terms possible, your brain only knows how to use the resources it has to produce the energy you need to function.  Energy in and energy out.  You determine how much energy (food) goes in and how much energy (from the fuel tank or fat stores) goes out.
