When we think about health in general, we equate it with illness or disease. We consider a healthy person as one to be free of illness or disease but there is much more to health. Overall health encompasses so many other aspects such as: mental health, social well-being, and physical health. In order to be healthy we need to make sure all the aspect are covered and not just being free of illness and disease.

When putting the menus together for easier navigation of the website, I had to reorder them several times. I too was one of those that thought health and being healthy was just about not being sick. As I learned more, I realized that in order to be healthy we need to address all the aspects of health. So I started addressing each issue separately to cover the whole.

As humans there are so many things that affect our overall health. We know that when we eat right or exercise or eliminate stress we feel better and we function better. Imagine if we addressed all of the aspects instead of spot fixing the one or two that stand out the most. What you will find here are articles, tips and advice on how to improve your overall health and get out of the mind set of just not being sick. It is my hope that with the information you find here, you will be able to do one or two things a day that will address all the aspects of your overall health. Eventually you will find that you feel better, look better and function better on a daily basis. By addressing your overall health you will actually lessen or even eliminate the “illness” ideal that is associated with health.

Our overall health is important. To only focus on one aspect of it is depriving yourself of the better life you could have. Yes we all want to be free of illness and disease but it is easier to keep those illnesses and diseases at bay if our overall health is good. I am not saying be perfect as that is not possible. We will all eat crappy food some days or skip the gym or get stressed out but if we more often than not do the right things for our bodies those imperfect days won’t matter as much.
