One empowered woman's struggle against the world

Dieting

Most woman cringe when they hear the word dieting. I am the same. I
love food and the thought of dieting and depriving myself of the foods
I love is horrible. I have set about, over the years, trying to find a
way to “diet” and still eat the foods I love. What I have discovered is
traditional dieting is a short term solution to a long term situation.

The dieting articles you will find here are more about eating better
(not necessarily healthier) so that you can maintain or lose the weight
you want without all the deprivation. I am not a health expert and I
would always recommend you check with your doctor before making any
major modifications to your eating and exercise routine. What I am is a
woman and a mother who has throughout my life been faced with weight
challenges and so far successfully dealt them.

We are bombarded with 100s of opinions on what we should and
shouldn’t eat. There are so many different types of diets out there it
is impossible to keep up and new ones come out daily it seems. Diets
work if you need to lose weight in the short term but if you want to
keep it off then dieting is not the answer. Many diets are tested and
what you don’t hear about are the people who failed. You will find a
parade of reviews for the people the diets worked for but very little
from the ones it didn’t. Every person is different so it is impossible
to create 1 diet that will work for everyone.

I have personally tried the Atkins diet, cabbage soup diet, eat
right for your type, glycemic index diet, mayo clinic diet, perricone
diet, south beach diet, sugar busters, thin for life, and the zone
diet. Some of them gave me short term results some of them gave me
nothing, I even gained weight on two of them. Every failure made me
more determined to find one that worked for the long term. As I said I
love food and all of these diets deprived me some type of food in order
to make them work. That didn’t work for me, I didn’t want to give up
foods I love and I have learned I don’t have to give them up.

What is best for you? That can only be answered through trial and
error. I wish there was a one size fits all answer but there isn’t.
There are a few things that will fit all but ultimately for you to be
successful you need to add the eliminates that fit in with your taste,
time and lifestyle. Hopefully, my trials and errors can help you find
what works for you and saves you a little time and a lot of failure on
your way to get to your ideal weight and stay there.

Hey, thanks for the nice article. I was hoping to subscribe to your RSS feed but unfortunately it never seem to be working in my browser. Are there other people having this trouble? I’ll be back in a bit to update. Regardless thanks again for this good read.
